The Brief: During the Christmas period of 2014 hundreds of homes and businesses in the Yalding and Tonbridge areas were affected by heavy rainfall resulting in floods. Benning Brothers specialise in flood reinstatement and worked alongside multiple insurance companies to deliver these properties back to the homeowner as quickly as possible. During this period we dealt with a surge of around 100 claims which varied from small homes to businesses which included the Bowls Club in Tonbridge.
Benning Brothers were given the opportunity to tender for this project, where we responded quickly and through the tender process & secured the contract with a prompt start.
Works to the Bowls club included a total reinstatement of the whole commercial property. This involved installing a new Bowls green which was affected by the flood and working alongside the clients at the Bowls club to make sure they were happy with the full reinstatement schedule that was being carried out by us. Benning Brothers also arranged for specialists to install flood barrier doors to the Bowls club to offer protection from future flooding.
Benning Brothers worked to an ambitious programme of 26 weeks which was delivered on time. Due to the extent of the damage, the Bowls Club was closed for business, so we had a limited amount of time to complete the works to allow the Bowls club to re-open as soon as possible for their clients to use. The works were completed in March 2015.
