A Day in the Life of a BBL Site Manager
Come along as we follow Terry, our dedicated Site Manager, at the Former Debenhams building on Chatham High Street!
With strip out works now in full swing, Terry plays a vital role in making sure everything runs safely and smoothly on site — not just for our teams, but also for the general public.
Here's what his morning looked like:
- Starting the day by opening site, checking all safety fencing is safe and secure, fire exits are clear, and lighting is securely in place ready for the work ahead.
- Welcoming operatives onto site, ensuring everyone is safely inducted, wearing their PPE, and signed in using our digital Sign on Site system.
- Chairing the daily briefing to review everyone’s plans for the day, planning how to keep everyone safe in their different tasks, and issuing permits to work once everything is risk assessed and planned out.
- Keeping in touch with our procurement team back at the office to make sure that everything needed is ordered for just in time delivery.
- Liaising with our Senior Project Manager on progress and site news.
- Getting his steps in walking all four floors of the building to make sure everyone is where they should be and working safely.
- Planning for tomorrow’s activities, ensuring our teams can get to work without getting under each other’s feet and they have the supplies they need.
- Daily checks of our telehandlers, fire points, and welfare spaces.
- Rounding off the busy morning with a well-earned tea break!
Terry is the glue that keeps our site operations together, and we can't wait to show you how this exciting project develops under his watch.
Stay tuned for more updates from us!
